You can send money directly to your receiver's phone if they have a mobile wallet4 from one of our partners and are in a country where this service is available. To find out where, click here and select the country you wish to send to, and look for the Mobile Wallet icon.

2. Log in or register and verify your free profile. Click 'Send now' to start your transfer.
3. Choose delivery 'To a mobile wallet' and enter the destination and amount.
4. Enter your receiver's name and mobile number.

How do I send money internationally with the Western Union® app?
The Western Union® app lets you send money on the go to a bank account, for cash pick-up or to a mobile wallet3.
1. If you already have the Western Union® app, log in with Touch ID or your credentials. If you don't have our app yet, simply download it on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. New users can follow the steps to register a profile with your email address.
2. Start a transfer by entering the destination country and the amount you'd like to send. Choose the payout method that works for you: directly to a bank account, for cash pick-up or to a mobile wallet4 based on your receiver's country. Enter your receiver's details.
3. Pay for your money transfer via debit or credit card, or with your bank account.
4. We'll provide the tracking number for your transaction (MTCN). Share this number with your receiver to track the funds. If sending to a mobile wallet4, you and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text5 notification when the money is delivered.
How much money can I send online?
If you want to send more than 799.99 GBP within a five-day period, we will need to confirm your identity first. Once we have finished your confirmation, you'll be able to send up to 4,000 GBP within a three-day period. For bank transfer to bank account payouts, you will be able to send up to 50,000 GBP per transfer depending on the selected country. Bank transfer is available for U.K. residents only. Additional limits may apply.
How do I send money abroad at an agent location?
1. Search for a Western Union location near you.
2. Go directly to the counter with your valid government-issued ID or phone number and bring your receiver's bank and account information. Please note you may need to provide proof of source of funds, so ensure you have a bank statement, payslip or tax return with you.
3. Pay with cash or a debit/credit card1.
4. We'll provide you a receipt with the tracking number for your transaction (MTCN). Share this number with your receiver to track the funds.
How much does an international money transfer cost with Western Union?
The cost to send money with Western Union varies depending on the method of sending and receiving. For example, an international cash transfer may cost more than sending money domestically for cash pick-up.

What information do I need to send money overseas?
To send money in person, bring a valid form of ID. Accepted IDs include current signed passports, driving licenses, emergency passports or travel documents, or ships passports. You must also know the receiver's full name as it appears on their ID.

If you're sending money abroad for cash pick-up, your receiver may be able to collect the funds in minutes3. Both senders and receivers can easily track transfers using the MTCN online or with our app.
